The Boston Globe

From June to December 2021, I designed print layouts and graphics for The Boston Globe. I primarily designed for their Arts and Ideas sections, occasionally filled in for designers in the Business section, and helped out in other sections as needed. I designed weekly sports graphics for the Sports section of the Sunday paper. I also helped design print layouts for the company’s weekly Globe Magazine.

Opinion Section

This is the web version of a collage I created for the Globe's Opinion section. It was published alongside the Letters editor's year-in-review piece, summarizing the year visually in conjunction with a curated selection of letters to the editor. The print version appears below.

Business Section

I sometimes designed the cover page for the Business section when the regular designer was out for the day.

Weekly Sports Graphics

Each week, I made 1-2 graphics for the Sunday sports section. The graphics typically highlighted players or teams from each of the major sports leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL), comparing a set of selected stats.

Daily COVID-19 Graphic

Each day, I updated the Globe's daily COVID-19 print graphic using Illustrator. The graphic included data released by the Massachusetts Department of Health, showing case counts, death counts, positivity rate, and hospitalizations within the state.
